PCC Sunday School Organizers Converge in Kumba for their Annual Presbytery Organizer Conference to Chart a New Path

Kumba, CameroonPresbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) Sunday school organizers from across the denomination gathered in Kumba for their annual Presbyterial Organizers Conference in early June 2025. The three-day event, held at the Presbyterian Church Center Kumba, brought together youth and children’s ministry leaders to strategize on capacity building, curriculum development, and adapting their programs for a new generation.

The conference, which was convened under the theme “Nurturing the Next Generation: A Digital and Foundational Approach,” addressed the evolving needs of young members in a rapidly changing world. Participants engaged in workshops on integrating digital tools and social media into Sunday school lessons, aiming to make biblical teachings more accessible and engaging. Key sessions focused on creating interactive content, utilizing educational apps, and ensuring a safe online environment for children.

A major highlight of the meeting was the focus on teacher training. Organizers shared best practices for motivating and equipping Sunday school teachers, emphasizing the importance of foundational theological knowledge and child-centered teaching methods. The discussions acknowledged the vital role of teachers as mentors and spiritual guides for the youth. Leaders also explored ways to promote greater collaboration between Sunday school programs and other church movements, such as the Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) and Christian Women Fellowship (CWF).

Reverend Nkwenti Joseph Ndeh, the out going National Sunday School Officer a speaker at the conference, underscored the importance of the gathering. “Our Sunday schools are the future of the church. This conference is not just about organizing; it’s about sowing seeds of faith that will blossom for years to come. We are equipping our leaders with the tools they need to meet children where they are, both in the classroom and online.”

The resolutions from the Kumba conference are expected to guide Sunday school activities across all PCC presbyteries for the coming year, with a renewed focus on innovation and strong foundational teaching. Leaders departed with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to implement strategies that will ensure the continued growth and spiritual development of the church’s young members.
