PCC Bamenda Station Youth Urged to Remain Steadfast in Faith Amidst Worldly Influences. Reverend Ngongan Paul Anyam, the Moderator’s Representative for the North West Region, delivered a powerful message to the children and youths of Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) Bamenda Station during their annual Children and Youth Sunday celebration on February 9, 2025. His address centered on the critical need for young people to maintain their faith and resist the allure of worldly temptations. Rev. Anyam emphasized the importance of staying grounded in Christian values and remaining steadfast in their commitment to God.
The service, held at PCC Bamenda Station, was a vibrant and joyous occasion, drawing hundreds of Christians from within and outside the congregation. Attendees showed their support for the young people, who took center stage in the day’s activities. The children and youths actively participated in various segments of the service, including reciting memory verses, showcasing their discipline and unity in a parade, and uplifting the congregation with their singing. Their enthusiasm and dedication were evident, demonstrating their integral role in the life of the church.
Rev. Anyam’s message resonated deeply with the congregation, particularly the young people. He acknowledged the challenges faced by youth in today’s world, where they are constantly bombarded with influences that can distract them from their faith. He encouraged them to remain strong in their convictions and to seek guidance from God and the church community. The Moderator’s Representative stressed the importance of building a strong foundation in faith during youth, which will serve as an anchor in times of temptation and uncertainty.
In addition to the spiritual guidance offered by Rev. Anyam, the Children and Youth Sunday celebration also highlighted an exciting development within PCC Bamenda Station. Plans are currently underway to establish a Youth Forum platform. This initiative aims to foster unity among the young people of the congregation, providing them with a space to connect, share ideas, and work together to promote peace and social cohesion within their community. The Youth Forum promises to be a valuable tool for empowering young people, nurturing their leadership skills, and encouraging them to become active agents of positive change.
The 2025 Children and Youth Sunday at PCC Bamenda Station was a testament to the church’s commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth and development of its young members. Rev. Anyam’s message served as a timely reminder of the importance of remaining steadfast in faith amidst worldly influences. The planned Youth Forum further underscores the church’s dedication to empowering young people and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in their faith and contribute meaningfully to their community.
