Mezam Presbytery Sunday School Leaders Receive Leadership Training
BAMENDA—Over 50 Sunday school leaders from across the Mezam Presbytery have gathered at Presbyterian Church Ntamulung for a comprehensive leadership training course. The three-day event, which began on August 28, 2025, aims to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to nurture the spiritual growth of children under their care.
The training was officially opened by the Presbyterial Treasurer, Rev. Nche Julius, who was representing the Presbyterial Secretary, Rev. Teneng Lucas Tah. In his opening address, Rev. Nche Julius encouraged the leaders to remain steadfast in their calling, drawing inspiration from the biblical message in John 11:25. He emphasized the profound responsibility of shaping the next generation of Christians and the need for unwavering dedication in their ministry.

Throughout the training, participants will delve into a wide array of topics crucial for effective ministry. The curriculum includes sessions on the liturgy and practices of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), ensuring leaders are well-versed in the church’s traditions and rituals. Additionally, a significant portion of the course is dedicated to effective methods for leading Bible studies, providing practical tools to make scripture engaging and accessible for young minds.
Beyond theological and liturgical instruction, the training also addresses the personal and pastoral lives of the leaders. A session on choosing a life partner highlights the importance of spiritual compatibility and partnership in ministry, acknowledging that a leader’s personal life is integral to their service. Other essential aspects of ministry are also being covered, fostering a holistic approach to leadership that encompasses both professional and personal development.
The course is designed to empower the Sunday school leaders, providing them with the necessary skills to create vibrant, nurturing, and spiritually enriching environments for children. By investing in this training, the Mezam Presbytery reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its foundation and ensuring that the future of the church is in capable and dedicated hands. The training concludes on August 30, 2025, with participants expected to return to their respective congregations equipped with renewed purpose and enhanced abilities.
