Meluv Parish Sunday School Celebrates Annual Rally

Meluv Parish Sunday School Celebrates Annual Rally, Cameroon – The Sunday Schools of Meluv Parish, comprising Meluv, Mbah, and Meliim, joined other Sunday School groups across the Bui Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon (PCC) on Sunday, January 12, 2025, to celebrate their annual rally. The event centered around the theme “God Protects His People,” drawn from Exodus 2:2-10.

The service commenced with Bible quizzes and brain trust competitions, followed by captivating performances from the children, including liturgical singing, showcasing their handiwork, traditional dances, and reciting memory verses.

In his sermon, Rev. Mbiy Joe L. Mbiy, Parish Pastor of Meluv, preached from Isaiah 49:1-6, focusing on the theme “I Will Make You a Light to the Nations.” He explained that Isaiah serves as a prophetic figure of Christ, chosen by God before birth to be the Savior of humanity from the grip of sin.

Rev. Mbiy emphasized that God protected Isaiah from harm to fulfill his divine purpose of bringing the Gentile world into the new Jerusalem, the marriage feast of the Lamb. Just as Isaiah was to be a light to the nations, so too are the children of the PCC called to shine brightly. He highlighted that Christ’s greatest glory came from bringing the Gentile world to God, exceeding the restoration of just the Israelites.

The pastor encouraged the congregation to emulate this light, emphasizing reliance on God’s protection for righteous works, including the nurturing of their children.

The rally also featured the reading of a message from the National Sunday School Officer, Rev. Nkwenti Joseph Ndeh.

In his closing remarks, Rev. Mbiy stressed the importance of viewing children as the future of the Church, urging congregations to invest in their spiritual growth. He emphasized that Sunday School serves as the nursery of the PCC, ensuring its continued existence. He cautioned against viewing the rally as a mere competition, but rather as an opportunity for fellowship, learning, and evaluation.

The day was filled with joy as children from different communities gathered to fellowship and celebrate their faith.
