Bui Presbytery Sunday School Rallies Spark Joy and Renewal

Bui Presbytery Sunday School Rallies Spark Joy and Renewal. From the rolling hills of Oku to the bustling streets of Mbonso, Ndu, and Wainama, a singular, powerful message echoed across the Bui Presbytery this past weekend: “Jesus is the resurrection and the life.” The annual PC Sunday School Rally celebrations brought together thousands of children, parents, and educators in a vibrant display of faith, culture, and community spirit that stretched from Kikaikilaki to the heart of Kumbo Town.

A Call for Transformation

At the Tobin Rally Center, the atmosphere was one of profound reflection and hope. Drawing from the theme’s scriptural root in John 11:25a, the Parish Pastor for Tobin delivered a stirring sermon that resonated far beyond the church walls.

Addressing a sea of eager young faces and their guardians, the Pastor emphasized that the “resurrection” promised by Christ is not merely a future hope, but a present necessity for the youth. He called on parents and children alike to turn toward Jesus to facilitate a moral and spiritual “resurrection”—transforming the younger generation from “obstinacy” into a responsible, disciplined, and God-fearing people.

A Tapestry of Celebration

The rallies were characterized by a rich blend of ecclesiastical tradition and local cultural expression. Across the various centers in the Presbytery, the “High Points” of the day included:

The National Message: The reading of the official address from the PCC National Sunday School Officer, which provided a unified vision for the year ahead.

Spiritual Artistry: Choral singing that filled the air with harmony, alongside “evangelical traditional dances” that showcased the local heritage being used to glorify God.

The “Alonge”: A spirited procession and communal celebration where children expressed their unbridled joy and satisfaction through movement and song.

Sustainability: Practical steps were taken to ensure the future of the ministry through successful fundraising efforts aimed at keeping Sunday School activities vibrant and well-resourced.

A Legacy of Faith

The events in Kumbo Town were described by attendees as “amazing,” marked by an overflow of energy and a sense of divine presence. As the celebrations concluded, the “viral” message of the day remained clear: the Sunday School is not just a place for lessons, but a foundation for life-changing renewal.

For the Bui Presbytery, this rally was more than a yearly ritual; it was a firm commitment to raising a generation that embodies the life and light of Jesus Christ in an ever-changing world.
